CHPS CHESS TEAM CONGRATULATIONS

CONGRATULATIONS !!

After several qualifying rounds over the past months, the CHPS Chess Team were amongst 159 students from 20 schools from all across Victoria competing in the 2019 Primary Open State Semi-Finals on Friday 25th. After a long day of competition, the CHPS Team took out first place!

The final top five standings were:

1. Clifton Hill Primary 28 points

2. Flemington Primary 26.5 points

3. Christ Church Grammar 26 points

4. Candlebark 24.5 points

5. Wesley College 24 points

As individuals, 4 members of the CHPS Team finished in the top 10 with Edward , James , Otto  and Sam taking third, fourth, fifth, and sixth places respectively out of a total of 159 competitors, each winning 6 out of 7 games. Other members of the CHPS Team were Jacques  Arlo , Micheal , Artie , Tom and Imogen.

Five members of the CHPS team competes in the State Finals on Wednesday 6th November.
