Mr Graham Jones
For myself, the term has certainly flown by. It feels like only last week that I was welcoming students back from their break and gearing up for one final term with my Year 12 class. All too soon it has come to an end. All course work has been covered, past papers have been practised and syllabi memorised. I feel as though I have prepared the class to the best of my ability and now it is up to them. I want to wish all of Year 12 good luck in the upcoming Higher School Certificate exams and hope that they each receive marks that truly reflect their commitment this year.
Boorowa Central formally farewelled the Year 12 class of 2018 this week with a graduation assembly yesterday. It was a fantastic event with an excellent video displayed - capturing the mood perfectly. The formal event was followed by celebratory events such as the social, redecorating the school and the game show assembly on Thursday. The students conducted themselves excellently and I was very proud of their efforts to leave a memorable (and appropriate) impression on the school.
Sadly, this term we also farewell a long serving member of our secondary teaching staff. Mr Paul Ealing has decided to retire and relocate with his wife to Florida. I would like to wish him all the best in his retirement and hope he enjoys his days relaxing on the beach and getting a (healthy) tan.
It was also a busy week in Infants/Primary with the creation of many creative and colourful kites and participation in the footy colours walkathon on Wednesday. Again I was reminded of how excellently our young students represent the school and give their best in each and every endeavour. I look forward to one day teaching each of them in the future.
To all our students, staff and families, have a safe and relaxing and well earned holiday. I look forward to seeing you all again after the break, or maybe even at Woolfest.
I'd also like to thank the Riles Family for organising the Trivia Night which was held on Saturday 15 September. The event raised over $9000 in total which was split between Boorowa Central School and St Josephs Primary School. The event was also highly successful due to the large amount of generous donations made from the local community.
