Performing Arts

Drama, Dance and Music

Welcome back to the Performing Arts page! It is here that you will see what is happening in our Drama, Dance, & Music spaces across the college. It has been great to begin a new year with students ready and eager to engage with the learning that is planned for 2021.

Firstly our instrumental program which began in 2020 continues to grow with the instruments on offer being: vocals, guitar, bass guitar, drums & keyboard. At the moment this program is nearing capacity which is exciting! If you are still interested in joining please see Miss Haddon asap to see what spots are left. If you miss out there will be a waiting list created.

This year in our Music classes we will have the privilege of partnering with Luis Poblete. Luis is a world class musician and is very well known in the music scene around Melbourne and has his own band named 'Labjacd'  who have featured on Triple J ‘Unearthed’. He will be running drumming and percussion workshops with our Year 7 & 8 classes. Welcome aboard Luis we are so thrilled to be working with you and connecting to our wider community.

An exciting event that we will be running for the first time this year is ‘GALA’ this event will encompass and celebrate all of our performing and visual arts areas, there will be live performances from our students, a gallery walk through, along with visual design and delicious food from our students. This is on the 17th of June so please mark it in your diaries, there will be more information to follow shortly.

We are excited about what this year holds for the performing arts space, we are noticing that students in this space are gaining more confidence when partaking in class activities and there is a real sense of success when they walk out of the room.
