Principal's Report

Year Six Graduation and End of Year assembly

We are thrilled to announce that due to changing rules and guidelines we are now able to adapt our Year Six Graduation and End of Year assembly to accommodate having one family member per Year Six student actually attend these ceremonies in person.

Based on the updated guidelines from the Department of Education and Training and with the actual number of Year Six students we are now able to hold both of these events in the hall with one family member per student in attendance.

Every Year Six student will be allocated ‘one ticket’ per event (Year Six Graduation Ceremony and End of Year assembly). This ticket will be used by the family member to gain entry to the hall to attend these events. The invitation to these events will be sent home to each family next week.

All parents attending these events in the hall will be asked to sign in, wear a mask and sit in the seats that are promoting social distancing.

A Compass event will be sent to all Year Six families with additional information to enable the families to nominate which family member is attending the Graduation Ceremony and the End of Year assembly.

We are thrilled that the guidelines have enabled this event to be more like a ‘traditional graduation ceremony’. Importantly the students have been asked about what aspects of graduation are most important to them and the wishes of the students have been taken into consideration. They have been involved in all aspects of planning this special night.

End of Year assembly

The End of Year assembly will be held on Friday, 18th December between 9.10am – 10.00am in our Multi-Purpose Room.

At this assembly we will only have the current Year Six students and one family member per child in attendance at this event as per the above information.

Parents in attendance will be asked to enter the Multi-Purpose Room.  via the door closest to the Tydeman Arts Centre. Please be seated by 9.10am.

We would like to thank the staff and students for their amazing work they have done in orgainising this events within these every changing guidelines.

Is your child starting secondary school next year?

Parents of our Year Six students will tell you that it doesn’t seem that long ago that their child was starting school. The primary years seem to fly by and our Year sixes are already seven weeks into their final term of primary school.

Secondary school can be a daunting thought for not only our students but parents as well. There are many questions, which I’m sure you have, which are not fully answered at information nights and orientation days.

The Department of Education and Training have developed an informative site, which provides hints and tips on how to support your child through the transition to secondary school. The site is https://www.education.vic.gov.au/parents/going-to-school/Pages/tips-starting-school.aspx

Are you leaving CRPS in 2021?

We ask that you let us know if you are moving or have enrolled to another school in 2021. We require this information as soon as possible in order to establish grade structures for the start of the new school year. If your child is currently in Grades Foundation – Five and will not be at Camelot Rise in 2021 please notify the school office in writing as soon as possible.
