Student Representative Council

2021 SRC Planning Day

On Monday, 7 December, the 2021 Student Representative Council held their planning day in the new Wurundjeri block building.

The day started in the morning with some introduction activities where the new SRC group got to know each other. The group discussed their reasons for joining the SRC and their areas and passions for change. How the SRC runs and communicates, along with meeting commitments and expectations for next year were also discussed.

The second part of the day saw the group brainstorming the issues and areas of improvement across our school community. These ideas were discussed and built upon until it was eventually decided on that the group would go into next year with four key goals that would be worked on for the entire year and a set of mini-goals that would be attended to and hopefully achieved in shorter time frames.

The remaining sessions for the day were designed around these four key goals. An action planning group was set up for each goal, students could then choose which goal they wanted to work on planning for the day. These smaller groups unpacked the goals even further and began planning their implementation for the 2021 school year.

The passion and drive of the new group were extremely uplifting and exciting to be part of. The SRC would like to welcome all our new members and welcome back to our returning members. We would also like to thank the staff who worked with us during our planning day and for the members of the school community who will help to support us as we go into 2021.
