What's happening in the classrooms

This year our focus throughout the school will still be to ensure that every child, every day feels connected, and every child, every day is challenged by new learnings and experiences. We strive to accomplish this through nurturing the children’s academic and social learning within a safe, engaging environment through learning our HEART values - Honesty, Empathy, Acceptance, Respect & Trust.

The first two weeks of the school gave us a chance to find a new normal for learning, connect us in new ways and appreciate both the uniqueness and the contributions of each individual to making our school a safe, loving and caring community.  We kick-started 2021 with Wellbeing activities centred on our school theme Together As One, that promote inclusivity and acceptance but also celebrate diversity. We learnt about individuality and self-expression through the read-aloud of Be You! and also worked in groups and teams to really inculcate what it means to live out our HEART values inside and outside our classrooms. We learnt and re-learnt the routines in our classrooms as we got to know our classmates and teachers in a fun and engaging way.

We really don’t know what 2021 will bring. But we remain hopeful that each and everyone in our community can overcome challenges when we work together as one. Here are some of what our students expect and hope for the coming school year:

Gurpreet - “I look forward to having fun with my friends and everyone being friendly.”

Stefan - “I hope that school will not be as hard.”

Tabitha - “I hope to learn more stuff and meet new friends.”

Ishani - “I’m positive that I’ll get a trophy at the end of the year. I will try my best.”

Simon - “I’m going to make my friends happy.”
