Wellbeing

Welcome back to Holy Family 2021 and the Wellbeing section of our newsletter.

Since the children commenced school last week they have been participating in Start-Up Week. The focus during this time is on Wellbeing - building relationships, understanding new classroom expectations and routines and deepening our understanding of HEART values through the lens of Scripture and a range of different activities that focus on each of the values.

We believe that the learning that takes place during this period sets the foundation for a happy and positive learning community.

During the week eight students from Year 6 began their journey as school leaders. They have already led Assembly and conducted a games afternoon. On Thursday afternoon they hosted a Wellbeing event based on a book about diversity, inclusivity and acceptance. The Preps to Year 6s listened to a story and completed an art piece which will all contribute to a display,  highlighting that we are both part of a community and unique individuals.

The leaders have shown great enthusiasm. A number of other year 6 students also participated in our Games Afternoon leading groups and demonstrating games. They helped to make the afternoon run smoothly, so a very big thank you for their support.
