SAKG

WELCOME TO THE 2020 PROGRAM
Dear school community,
Happy New Year!!
I trust everyone had a good break. I'm looking forward to welcoming the children to the SAKG program next week. The garden is abundant with summer fruit and vegetables, ready to be made into delicious meals.
Sadly, Jac Semmler, our garden specialist has resigned. However, we do have Teresa, who has worked in the garden before, to fill in for the garden classes temporarily while the school looks for someone more permanent.
Volunteer spots in the kitchen and garden are open to parents, grandparents, family friends and community members. No experience is necessary and all are welcome.
If you think that you would like to volunteer, but want to know a bit more about the program first, I will be available to give a quick introduction to the program and to answer any questions, this Thursday 6/2/2020 at 3:10pm.
We use volunteer sign-up for both the kitchen and garden rosters.

For those of you who have not volunteered before, please note the following:
All volunteers need a Working With Children Check card; these are free for volunteers and are valid for 5 years. Please make sure that the office has sighted your Working With Children Check, and that you have also signed a Code of Conduct form (also at the office). Working with Children Checks can be applied for online and are processed at the post office.

Lastly, If anyone in the community has an excess of the following to donate to the kitchen, it would be much appreciated.
Clean glass jars, labels removed.
Home grown lemons
Home grown fruit
Home laid eggs
Warm regards,
Angel Munro
SAKG Kitchen Specialist
