Assistant Principal

From Mrs Allison

Welcome to the College for the 2021 school year. I do hope that you enjoyed a relaxing and restful holiday with your family and friends.

The new Year 7 students were officially welcomed along with other new students and new staff at our College assembly last Tuesday. This was a great experience and opportunity for our college community to celebrate the start to a new year, meet our leaders and hear about interesting upcoming events.

This year has begun smoothly with our students reuniting, rekindling friendships and creating connections with staff and fellow students. This year is about connections, reconnecting and developing new links. So, I invite parents to become involved and join our community by ways of parent groups that include Music Association, Chaplaincy, PCTA and Facilities. By helping others, it helps us become the best version of ourselves.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our staff, students and families for supporting Ringwood Secondary College (RSC) throughout 2020. The development of emotional empathy combined with everyone’s efforts ensured the wellbeing and safety of everyone was forefront and centre of our thinking. Our collective efforts created positive impact that will hopefully continue to provide exciting opportunities and experiences for our students. My hope is that in 2021 our college community continues to foster creative talent and encourage the growth of flourishing and thriving individuals.

Throughout the next few weeks many important events will occur that inspire and connect our community including:

  • The Prefects Induction- a celebratory time for teachers, parents and students and our college leaders
  • Leadership training for our junior and middle level leaders
  • Music Recruitment evening for Year 7 students and parents
  • Rehearsals for our Middle School musical production that will open in March

Finally, I would like to congratulate our 2020 Year 12 cohort who completed their year in fine form with excellent results despite many challenges and I also extend a sincere thank you to all RSC staff and parents for their wonderful support.

Dr Brene Brown defines connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.
