A Word for 2021 - Legacy

Celebrating 40 years

You may be able to work out that the image of child in the photo above is me.  Back in 1986 I started my journey at Good Shepherd Lutheran School at Para Vista.  I would have never imagined returning to my Primary School as a professional but there was obviously something so special about my time here that I kept my first dress, case and 'Sing to Jesus' songbook.

I have fond memories of Sports Day, Fete's, Dress Up Days, the gigantic wooden playground and the many building projects. Many of these events we continue to see build the DNA of our community.  But what sits with me most as I reflect on my primary years are the teachers who loved us and shared Jesus with us each day.  I can still recite many of the prayers we were taught and hear the tunes of songs that is part of this schools legacy.

This year we celebrate the school's 40th birthday and will be taking a look back at the legacy left by many for us to enjoy now and consider what legacy we are creating.

Legacy - "Your legacy is every life you touch".

As we begin our year together, I pray that 2021 be a year where we as a community walk together with the grace of God to release all that is possible for us to achieve and be for each other.
