Wellbeing MATTERS!
Dear Families,
Welcome Back! Term 4, 2020. The sun is shining and new life is springing up all around us! I discovered a nest of baby birds in my backyard, tucked away in a corner of my shelves, of all things gardening! How wondrous …… just as we begin a new term it made me reflect on new beginnings and how lucky we are to be back at school and thankful that all students and their families are experiencing some ‘normality’ and are returning to learning and playing at school! New life.
It’s been a fantastic start to term 4, so wonderful to see smiling faces and children happy to be there! As I’ve moved around the school that is the thing I’ve noticed the most - SMILES on FACES - and not just students but Teachers and Parents!! So, on my travels around the school I’ve been asking students and teachers a question? What’s the best thing about being back at school at Sacred Heart this term? Here are some of the responses.........
Grade 3/4PB
William - “Getting to see friends, learning and playing
with my friends.”
Hunter - “Seeing my friends and getting back into the
classroom.”
Emerson - “Learning with my teachers and the other
kids.”
Lila - “Getting back with my friends and teachers
again. NO MORE HOME LEARNING!”
Foundation O’S
Ashleigh - “Seeing all my friends and playing
with them!”
Noa - “ I can play in the playground.”
Delilah - “ Seeing my friends and playing.”
Grade 1/2 AN
Elyssa - “Seeing all my friends, learning and seeing Cookie!.”
Annie - “Seeing my friends.”
Grace - “Learning, seeing the teachers, Cookie and my friends.”
Staff
"Seeing everyone's smiling faces and "teaching"!
"Being with the children and continuing to build relationships."
"Having conversations - 'face-to-face' - and teaching."
"Being able to 'talk' and seeing their happy faces."
"Doing our job!"
"Hearing the children's 'FABULOUS' joy at being back!"
"The sounds of school - children playing; talking; laughing; yelling; quietly working at tables; interacting with teachers; the bell!" Just great!
"Great to be back to some 'normality' - children at school learning and playing!"
I noticed (as you no doubt have) that ‘friends’ feature and that most children couldn’t restrict themselves to ONE best thing (or staff)! So many good things to celebrate as we settle back into term 4, our learnings and of course our time with friends and teachers.
