From the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians

Thank You

Congratulations to the community of St Bede's  on an amazing Term 3. With the term finishing at the end of this week, I am sure many are looking forward to two weeks holidays!!!  Through what has been a challenging term everyone needs to give themselves credit for having a positive mindset, resilience and stamina that has been necessary during remote learning.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our staff, parents and children. You have all been amazing.  I hope the holidays provide some time to rest and recharge ready for the challenges of Term 4

Please take the time to read the COVID update page of this newsletter.

Prep 2021 Orientation

Today we conducted our First Prep 2021 orientation via zoom.  Mrs Antonello and Mrs Boyhan  were brilliant as Mrs Wishy Washy. We will continue to conduct online orientation sessions next term with the intention of allowing the children to come into the school after the 23rd November (Victorian roadmap requirements). Please look out for times and dates next term.

A suggestion for our next story is Piranhas don't eat Bananas  (thanks Chloe)

Public Holiday

The Premier of Victoria has recently announced that the Friday before the AFL Grand Final public holiday will be moved from its original date (Friday 25 September) to Friday 23 October 2020.  Friday 23 October 2020 will now be the prescribed public holiday and Friday 25 September 2020 will no longer be considered a public holiday declared or prescribed by the Victorian Government. The Friday before the AFL Grand Final public holiday is based on the AFL playing schedule, which was altered as a result of COVID-19.  There will be no school for children or staff on this day.

Hall

As mentioned last week we are currently upgrading the hall. Below is progress picture. There is still more work to be completed but the first stage of painting is nearly complete.

I look forward to seeing EVERYONE at some stage next term.  Enjoy your holidays

Kind Regards

Brian
