Child Protection Sunday 13/9/20

St Joseph's Primary School and St Brigid's Parish is committed to the care, wellbeing and protection of children, young people and people at risk in our community. We uphold that child protection and the dignity of every person is the responsibility of every adult.

Prayers of Intercession

For families: that they may grow stronger and more resilient in their love and care for one another so that children are raised in safe and nurturing environments.

Let us pray to the Lord R: Lord hear our prayer

For children in our parishes: that we may all work collaboratively to ensure the happiness and confidence of every child, and foster an environment of safety and protection where children flourish.

Let us pray to the Lord R: Lord hear our prayer

For our community as it seeks to follow the example of Christ and the teachings of his Church: that we will work to ensure that policies and procedures are implemented to protect children, young people and the vulnerable in our society.

Let us pray to the Lord R: Lord hear our prayer

Catholic Mission

This year in his  World Mission Day Message 2020 Pope Francis urges us to continue Jesus’ mission:

“…. the mission of Jesus in history …. sends us everywhere so that, through our witness of faith and the proclamation of the Gospel, God may continue to manifest God’s love and in this way touch and transform hearts, minds, bodies, societies and cultures in every place and time.”

CRAZY HAIR DAY FUNDRAISER

To kickstart raising awareness for Catholic Mission, the SRC met last week to discuss how we could teach others about the people of Cambodia.  The students came up with some great ideas to raise money and also have lots of fun in the process.

On Wednesday 16th September students may come to school with

CRAZY HAIR styles.  These styles should be reasonably functional for regular school activities and hair also needs to return to normal for the next school day.  Students still wear Sports Uniformwith their crazy hair. This is a GOLD COIN donation event.  The money raised will be forwarded to Catholic Mission's focus country for this year:  Cambodia.

We thank you for your support!

Feast of Our Lady of La Salette

This Saturday, 19th September, is the Feast Day of Our Lady of La Salette.  It is a very important feast day for Father Vic Ignacio - our Parish Priest - and his order of priests.  Students will be learning a little about this beautiful Lady who gave a great light and Infants will attend Mass on Friday, whilst Primary students will engage in class liturgies.  Mass is at 9:30am this Friday.  Please sign in at the front of the Church upon arrival to comply with regulations.

A special Mass is being celebrated on Saturday 19th September at 9:30am in St Brigid's Church, followed by morning tea in the Fr Stan Campbell Hall.  Please bring a plate to share. Prayer

Remember, Our Lady of La Salette, true Mother of Sorrows, the tears you shed for me on Calvary.  Remember also the care you have always taken to keep me faithful to Christ your Son.  After having done so much for your child, you will not now abandon me.  Inspired by this consoling thought, I come to cast myself at your feet inspite of my infidelities and ingratitude.  Do not reject my prayer, O merciful Virgin, but intercede for my conversion. Obtain for me the grace to love Jesus above all things, and to console you by a holy life, that I may one day see you in heaven.  Amen.

Our Lady of La Salette reconciler of Sinners,

Pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to thee.
