Principal Team's Report
Kerryn Baillie, Jane King, Scott McKinnon & Amy Jewell
Yet again we have had a year that we did not expect, our well-planned year took a turn as the COVID-19 Pandemic continued and remote and flexible learning was enforced again. As a community, we have got through the challenges and it has been so lovely to hear the sound of our students and staff back in the buildings and grounds.
We cannot thank the staff enough for their support and hard work every day as we continue to work towards our school’s mission. The leadership team, office staff and all our teachers and Learning Support Assistants are true professionals who work tirelessly to get the best results for our students.
I would like to thank our School Council on behalf of the community. They have been an amazing group of parents and teachers to work with. They provide valuable input into the school and work with us to provide great opportunities for the students. This year Michael Whiting took on the School Council President role - he has worked closely with us sharing the views of the parent community and working to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Most importantly thank you to the students. They are the reason we come to work each day and why we work so hard. They have worked to achieve their goals and we are exceptionally proud of the progress they have made. We have enjoyed reading reports and hearing all about the academic progress that has been made throughout the year.
In 2022 we will welcome Molly O'Donnell, Shenae Coffey, Emily Sach, David James and Aimee Cain to our PSPS teaching team.
Each year we farewell staff who head off to a new stage in their lives and careers. This year we will farewell Ellen Williams, Kendall Wilkie, Chelsie Selleck, Natalie Coxon, Shannon Patterson, Jayde Barlow and Debra Schumann. We thank them for their wonderful contribution to our Professional Learning Community.
Retiring after 45 years in Education is Mrs Deb Sanderson. Deb has contributed to the lives of 1000s of students over an outstanding career. What a privilege it has been to have her at the Springs for the final years of her career. We wish Deb all the best for a safe and happy retirement.
In 2022, we welcome Renee Cotterell back to her Assistant Principal position alongside Jane King. We thank Scott McKinnon and Amy Jewell for their work as Acting Assistant Principals throughout 2021, with Renee and Kerryn both taking leave at different stages throughout the year. Amy and Scott will be in the role of Learning Specialists in 2022, leading Literacy and Numeracy.
In 2022, we will have 34 classroom groups.
