At Lockleys North in order to foster a positive team environment, we use common agreements to help our students to be successful. Every learning space in the Mellor team reflects upon our six learner agreements. This includes how to move around the school successfully, how to treat others with respect, care and concern, how to use good problem solving skills, how to communicate well and how to stay safe when learning. After each class has reflected upon each of the six agreement areas they will co-construct a statement to then be displayed in the classroom.

Co constructing agreements about behaviour will not only give students a voice but make them accountable towards the decisions they have helped make. This is crucial as it is a common understanding about the way we behave in learning spaces.

These are our school values. These values are extremely important to our school and to our wider community. Students will be given the chance to reflect upon these values and discover their importance for themselves. They will come to find, when displaying these values, that they will be aiming high and striving for their best.

SOCIAL SKILLS

Social skills are the way that we make connections / relationships with people, as well as letting our needs be known and sharing ideas. Students will be using a range of social skills when working with others through a myriad of different lessons and activities, from maths to discovery time. When students develop social skills, they are better able to get along with others. The You Can Do It program is embedded into many curriculum areas. The program is a whole school focus at LNPS and its core purpose is the development of young people’s social and emotional capabilities.
