MEET THE TEAM

MELLOR 2022 TEACHING TEAM

Welcome back to 2022!

We hope that you have had a relaxing and safe break and you are ready for another busy year. Unfortunately, it was not the start that we were hoping for, but we are very proud of all of our students for positively adapting to the new changes, ensuring the safety of themselves and their peers. Thank you for your patience, support and continuous understanding as we all navigate these uncertain times.

In Mellor, we work collaboratively together to plan and provide the best possible learning experiences for our students.

Get to know the teachers.....

Sarah Kroemer: I have been working at LNPS since 2009. For the last 5 years I have been teaching the year 1/2s. I love working with children and seeing them enjoy learning new things and becoming more independent and capable of communicating their feelings. I also enjoy reading, skiing, doing acrobatics and German wheel and spending time with my family. I am married and have 2 children, Edward and Emily, who are 11 and 7. We also have a pet budgie who likes to swoop over our heads and play ball. I am looking forward to working as a team and seeing our students grow.

Joanne Wegner: I have been working at LNPS since 2012. I have worked with different year levels within the early years but my main focus has been with the year 1/2 group. I enjoy working with and helping children. It is great to see the children grow and build their confidence as learners throughout the year. In my spare time I like to read, watch movies and go out with friends for coffee. I am married and have 2 sons, Aaron and Joshua, who are both taller than me. I have a pet cat called Benson, who likes to keep us entertained. I look forward to working with the Mellor Team this year to support our students to achieve their best.

Maddy Hicks:  This will be my 4th year teaching at LNPS. I decided to become a teacher because I love to help people and it is very rewarding seeing the growth in each student over the year. In my spare time I love to keep fit and active and catching up with friends for a coffee and walk down the beach. I have a big family (my mum has 8 brothers and sisters), so I also like to spend time with my 15 cousins. I play netball for fun and my position is Centre. I am very much looking forward to another year in the Mellor team and supporting all students to achieve success.

Lauren Atkinson:  I am very excited to be part of the Mellor team this year. I have been teaching Reception at LNPS for the last 10 years, so this is an extremely exciting change for me. I currently team teach with Libby Edwards, who teaches in M4 on Thursdays. I am married and have 3 boys of my own, Noah, Jacob & Ollie. Noah has just started high school in Year 7 and Jacob & Ollie attend school here at LNPS in Years 6 & 2. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends and playing and watching sport including baseball and footy. I am a big Adelaide Crows fan in the AFL & the Eagles in the SANFL, so we spend lots of time on our weekends supporting our teams. I am looking forward to a wonderful year and working together to ensure a happy and successful journey for our Year 1/2  learners.

Libby Edwards: I have been at LNPS since 2003 and seen many changes during my time here.  I took leave to have my children, Naomi (15) and Miles (13) as well as a year living in Canada when my husband did a teaching exchange.  It is refreshing to know that with new staff and new ideas, we are always making changes to reflect the needs of our students.  I enjoy teaching German as well as my classroom teaching roles, this year in both Mellor (M4) and Reception (R8).

Jonathon Lamb: I am excited and extremely proud to be in Mellor for the first time in a long time! I have previously taught all over the school, from Reception to year 7 in many different roles. I have just come from Torrens where I have been teaching the 3/4s for five years. I loved teaching the Year 2/3s last year and I am excited to teach the year 1/2s. I can’t wait to see these fantastic students turn into amazing independent learners. I live locally with my wife, and look after one chicken and one very cute Groodle named Chai, who as of this time of writing is only 12 weeks old. I love traveling, listening to music, going to see live bands and collecting vinyl records. We have an amazing team in Mellor and I am very excited and proud to be working with these fantastic teachers.

Mandy Jones: I have been teaching at LNPS for 14 years. I have taught Reception to Year 3. Over the last 6 years, I have been teaching Year 1 and 2. In my spare time I love to face paint, use my Circuit Maker and take art classes. I belong to an International daily face painting group with 7000 other painters who post daily. Being a learner helps me to feel what it’s like to be a student and I believe that this enriches my teaching. One of my greatest joys is spending time with my granddaughter and taking her to the park, spending time in the garden with her and going to exciting places. I have 2 daughters. The football has been disappointing so after 20 years of membership, I have decided to watch it on TV. I have a caravan and love going away in it to Port Elliot and the river. I love working at LNPS and with the amazing team of dedicated teachers. I am looking forward to 2022 and an exciting year of learning with the students.

Richard Barwa: I have been at LNPS since 2009. This is my third year teaching R-2 science and Year 2 English. I enjoy learning and teaching and endeavour to share this enthusiasm with the students. I’ve taught mainly Year 1/2 classes but also receptions for three years and a year 2/3 class back in ‘09. I am married to a teacher, have 2 children at uni and a cheeky dog named Pretzel. I enjoy a range of music and history. My other interest is classic cars. I’ve enjoyed, maintained and driven old Volkswagens to interesting places from the age of 16 such as The Murray Mouth and Birdsville. I feel privileged to be part of the Mellor Team.
