John XXIII Rowing Club

Rower of the week

Name: Harry McHenry

Year Level: Year 9

Rower of the Week:

Harry demonstrated excellent leadership at training this week. He was vigilant with his rowing and effort in training and was active in promoting safe and correct mask wearing to help protect himself and others.

Well done Harry!

A great reminder of the following precautions we will be taking as a Rowing club to continue to keep us safe.

Training & other information

  • Masks must be worn at all times when in the boat shed. Masks are encouraged outdoors when social distancing can not occur.
  • Year Groups remaining separate in all training sessions wherever possible.
  • Training to occur outdoors wherever possible – this relates specifically to our Strength and Conditioning sessions after school.

Under sweltering heat, rowers sweated it out both at the water and at land trainings. Hard work does pay off and we are looking great for our upcoming Regatta Opening in Bunbury on 26 March.

Parents will receive a lengthy letter this week outlining a range of important information. Please contact me should you not receive this by Saturday 19 February.

Remember that rowing caps were due to me in the PE office by Friday 18 February. Also a reminder to all families and rowers that you need to subscribe to the Stack Team App (Search JTCRC). Please ensure you have your push notifications switched ‘on’ (in settings).

Have an oar-some weekend everyone!
