Mathematics Improvement Project

In 2021, St Joseph’s commenced the implementation of the Mathematics Improvement Project (MaST) in Stages 1 & 2. One of the most significant achievements was the high level of student engagement and improvement in self belief in Mathematics. We are very excited to inform you that in 2022 the MaST project will be implemented across the whole school.

The aim of the MaST project is to raise student achievement in Numeracy and Mathematics through a system approach based on high-impact instruction and gradual release of responsibility, to improve learning experiences for our students in Mathematics. This aim is being driven from one of three goals in our school’s Annual Improvement Plan.
