Extra curricular

Students in Middle and Senior Years have begun meeting on a Thursday lunchtime this term for Debating Club, where students are learning and practicing the skills of what makes a good debater and, are preparing for the Debating Association of Victoria’s (DAV) interschool competition. 

In teams, of a minimum of four, students are tackling issues as big as human rights and the nature of Australian democracy and as nuanced citizenship rights and fighting crime. It will, without a doubt, be an exciting year of growth, argument and, deep thought; and although not every team may win every debate – Debate Club is arguably the best.
