Did you know that faith in Jesus is like having an umbrella?  That’s how Sienna F, Ashna S and Magdalena S described faith in a recent chapel message.  Here’s what they said:

Umbrellas have different uses. They shelter us from rain and also too much sunshine.  They can also be a fashion statement.  If you get the angles right, it’s possible to hide behind an umbrella so that no part of you can be seen. 

Having an umbrella is a bit like having faith in Jesus.  Just as it’s possible for an umbrella to completely cover you, faith in Jesus means you’re completely covered over by Jesus’ perfect life.  This means that when God looks at you, God doesn’t see your sins.  Instead, God sees Jesus' sinless, perfect life.  All of your sins are gone! 

The Bible puts it like this: God will conceal me.  God will hide me and keep me safe (Psalm 27:5).  And again: Your life is hidden with Christ  (Colossians 3:3). 

Faith in Jesus is like having a shield of perfection that covers you. 

God give you the joy of knowing Jesus as your umbrella!
