Term 1 in Performing Arts at RPPS!
We have started the year with the theme of 'Creativity takes Courage'. Students have been discussing different ways that they can be courageous in Performing Arts - by being themselves, by trying and making new things, and by sharing their awesome creations.
Grade 5 & 6 students will have start with a focus on Music History, learning about courageous creatives, the music they have made, and even learn to play some of their famous riffs and hooks!
Grade 3 & 4 students will be focusing on learning to read, write and play music notes through their exploration of different genres of music.
Grade 1 & 2 students will be learning about beat and rhythm. They will explore the beats and rhythms they hear around them, as well as famous rhythms from around the world.
Prep students will begin with a focus on sound and silence, and explore the many different ways that they can make sound and music with classroom instruments and their bodies!
