ConnecTED Learning

In ConnecTED Learning, Year 7 have made an excellent start in English (TED-E),  Religious Education (TED-RE), and HSIE (TED-H).

Our new families may not be aware that ConnecTED Learning is made up of English, Religious Education, and HSIE (Human Society and Its Environment - History and Geography). It follows a Guided Inquiry approach to foster a life-long love of learning in students, as well as the skills they need to be successful in the 21st-century world. Parents/carers who would like to know more about this approach  can attend the Zoom meeting scheduled for Thursday 17 February from 5:00pm to 5:30pm (the zoom link has been emailed via Compass).

In TED-E, students have started an exploration of the narrative textual form through the study of the novel, Look Both Ways’ by Jason Reynolds and will write their own creative pieces.

In TED-RE Year 7 students are investigating Initiation and Belonging, getting to know each other and exploring the Catholic ritual of initiation, as well as similar rituals across the world.

Finally, in TED-H, classes are starting with Geography and exploring the amazing world we live in through learning about Landscapes and Landforms. The images below show some 7.4 students enjoying a lesson on plate tectonics using Oreo cookies.

We look forward to sharing more ConnecTED Learning experiences throughout the year.
