Mission

Opening Staff Mass

On Friday 28 January we held our Opening Staff Liturgy. The theme of the Liturgy was ‘A Future of Hope’. It was a beautiful start to the year, celebrating our faith together.

College Opening Mass

Our College Opening Mass was celebrated on Tuesday 8 February. New 2022 Captains had their badges presented at the Mass and it was wonderful to have their parents in attendance. We welcomed Fr Jomer Calmer to our College as he celebrated his first Mass with us. The theme of the Mass was ‘Beacons of Hope’.

The last two years have challenged us as a community and we have had to let go of many of our own plans and dreams. But what helps us to go on and not give up has been the constant presence of a God who holds us, a God who loves us. So, as we look to 2022 together, we know that we are not abandoned. While plans have changed, we can learn to find joy and hope in the new story we are now living. What possibilities might this mean for us as we make a fresh start?

Year 12 Retreat

Year 12 Retreat has been postponed to Term 2. We are happy to share with you that Mr Chris Doyle will come to our College next Tuesday 15 February to run a Community Building Day with Year 12, in preparation for their postponed Retreat, which will now occur on Tuesday 31 May - 3 June 2022. The Retreat will be facilitated at Greenhills Centre, Stromlo ACT 2611. An updated online permission note will be issued to parents/carers soon.

Year 7 Reflection Day

Year 7 students will participate in a Reflection Day on Wednesday 23 February. Students will be involved in personal development and community building within a Catholic faith context.

Engaging activities and personal testimony will be shared by Az Hamilton from Just Motivation. This will take place during the school day, in our College Hall and College Staff will be present to support and guide our students' involvement.

Prayer for a New School Year

In our times of joy...

Help us to feel your presence so that we may celebrate our good times with you.

When we encounter times of struggle…

Help us to draw strength from your love and from each other.

As challenges arise…

Help us to confront them with courage and perseverance, trusting in the knowledge that you are walking alongside us.

When we overcome the difficult situations that face us…

Help us to humbly and gratefully acknowledge the wisdom gained from our new experiences.

We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen
