Kate was born at Lilydale Hospital and went to Bimbadeen Heights Primary School and Lilydale High School. Her mum was a teacher for 30+ years and Kate got to see her in action a few times helping at school fetes and supervising her students at the Olympic torch run back in 2000 in Sassafras.

In Year 9, Kate was involved in the school media team where she got to work in radio and also print and edit the Year 9 magazine. In Year 10, Kate got to travel to France with her father for a month and caught the travel bug. Over the years she’s gone on to travel to the UK, Italy, Germany, America, New Zealand and back to France. Her highlights were seeing so many shows performed in the West End, London and on Broadway in New York, the variety and beautiful architecture all around the world and ALL of the delicious food in each country.

After completing high school, she went to Latrobe University and studied Arts to explore her passions of history and literature. She then went on to study Education, whilst working two jobs in retail and in distribution.

In 2016 Kate reunited with her high school sweetheart, travelled to America together where he took her to the best pizza restaurant ever, and they got married a year and a half later. They have a vivacious 3-year-old daughter called Chloe.

Kate's hobbies are reading, going out for dinner or an avocado smash breaky, having a cup of tea with family and going on adventures with her daughter and husband.

She started working at Syndal South Primary back in 2013 and taught 3/4s up until 2019. In 2020 Kate went to work closer to home at Ruskin Park Primary for 2 years and now is back at SSPS teaching a fantastic bunch of Year 5s!
