From the Library

Scholastic LOOP Book club

Issue 1 LOOP Book Club orders were submitted last week and these books will be distributed via students as soon as they arrive. The Issue 2 catalogue will be available soon with book delivering expected prior to the Easter School holidays.

Thank you to those families, who purchased books from Issue 1 of LOOP and supported the school library as a result! I look forward to your ongoing support throughout 2022.

Children's BOOK WEEK . . . DREAMING WITH EYES OPEN . . .

The CBCA's Notable booklist for BOOK WEEK was announced this week on Tuesday 22nd February. I'll share this list of 'notable' Australian children's book titles in the next ROCKET. On Tuesday 29th March the CBCA Shortlisted books will be announced at 12 noon, so keep your EYES peeled here for those TOP 6 books in various categories too!

Overdue Books and Notices

Reminder notices were sent home to families via students with overdue library books last week on Friday.  All library books are borrowed for 2 weeks, but can be renewed if students need longer than 2 weeks to read them. Please assist your child with renewing or returning their library books on time.

Reminder: Books can be returned in the RETURNS box in the library at any time.

LOST/Missing book replacements:

If any student damages, loses or cannot find their school library book, please notify their class teacher or the Office via email as soon as possible. Lost and damaged books need to be replaced so we encourage families to make a NEW book or monetary donation to the school.

Book donations:

The school library gratefully accepts all good condition children's book donations. Please consider sharing books your family no longer read or want with the school library - thank you!

Parent help/volunteers to contact covering new books:

I'm keen for volunteer parent helpers to assist with covering new books this year, so please contact the Office with your name and details and I'll contact you directly.

Reminder: I only work @Syndal South PS in the library on Fridays, but can be contacted via email on inger.robinson@education.vic.gov.au if you have any questions/queries. Please make it clear in the email you're an SSPS family or student as I also work at Ashburton PS - thank you!

Happy reading from
