The Place to be … is the Library!
It is great to be back in Term 2 and the hub of activity that is happening in the Library. It is evident by the number of students using the Library before school, recess, lunchtimes and after school that the Library is a popular place to be.
Knitting Club on Friday lunchtimes has been a big success with students across all levels keen to learn the skill of knitting. It’s lovely to witness the students helping each other out with “dropped stitches” etc.
The “Friday Fun Quiz” has also been popular with a joint effort in coming up with as many possible solutions to the question.
Card games and reading the fabulous magazines is also a must and the books, the wonderful world of books. ”Books are just worlds waiting to be opened”. Happy Reading!

Academy of Mary Immaculate has been invited to take part in the St Mary’s House of Welcome’s ‘Movin' for Meals’ challenge to raise much needed funds to provide hot, nutritious meals over the coming year to people who are sleeping rough on our streets.
We have registered an Academy team - Academy Movin’ for Meals Team and if students would like to take part, they will do so as part of this team. There is no obligation to take part.
St Mary’s House of Welcome provides essential services to people who are chronically homeless and experiencing poverty, severe and persistent mental health issues, and those who are extremely isolated and socially marginalised.
We will do our bit by moving our chosen kilometres hoping to raise money for this great cause through sponsorship. We would love your help in reaching our goal!
With permission from their parents/guardians, students will be able to join the Academy Movin’ for Meals Team online on the St Mary’s House of Welcome website and gather as many donations of money as possible during the month of May. They will register the number of kilometres they anticipate walking, running, etc in the month of May and do this in their own time. They will ask their donors to support them by making donations to the link provided.
Students and families can access the link here: Academy Movin’ for Meals Team
Students will be given further instructions in an email to explain how to join the Academy Movin’ for Meals Team.
Thank you for your support of this local community organisation with whom the Academy of Mary Immaculate has a special relationship.
