Walk to School is this Friday - Wear your crazy socks and get involved!

This Friday is a chance to wear long, short, colourful, odd or sports socks and walk to school. If you live too far why not park the car a little further away and enjoy a stroll to school.

Walking Bus - Mrs Nancarrow and Mrs Crookes will be at Billabong Park on Weeden Drive at 8:40am if you would like to meet us for a walk. Parents you are welcome to walk with us or drop off your child and we will walk them to school.

Walk to School benefits everyone

Walk to School is good for kids, their families, and the whole school community. It encourages lifelong healthy habits, helps make the streets and drop-off zones around the school safer and less congested, helps connect kids to their local neighbourhood and creates opportunities for families to get active as well.

Check out the Walk to School website https://www.walktoschool.vic.gov.au/ for further information or activity ideas.

STEAM

The STEAM room has been busy with cool designs and Lego construction.

Performing Arts

Grade 1 enjoyed playing different musical instruments.  Working with a partner, students took turns to repeat the rhythm played.

VISUAL ARTS

Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 have been studying portraiture, including some works of well known artists. Have a look at the fabulous self-portraits below, both realistic and Picasso style.

Sovereign Hill

Year 4/5 and 5/6  studied sketches, paintings and artefacts, as a record of everyday life on the goldfields, during the Colonial era.  They created some stunning drawings of goldfield characters and the famous Chinese Willow plate china.

COME along for a cuppa, catch up and to help us out.

WHEN: Tuesday mornings, from 9.00am drop off, for approximately an hour.

Message a friend to join you, the more the merrier!

Of course, you can come at another time that suits you too.

NO SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED!

PLEASE sign in at the office, if you would like to join in.  There was a mini-working bee this week to catch up on all the returns from after the holidays.  The shelves look terrific. Cindy has been busy cataloguing lots of new books. They are currently on display.

With thanks,

Jenny Watts :)
