A Wonderful Donation

A huge thank you to the organisers and supporters of the recently ran Raywood Community Raffle. Jan Slorach-Ranson from the Post Office put our school forward as the intended recipients of the proceeds of the raffle which was ran at the local hotel. Prizes were donated by Rosie Coleman from Colour-Optics so that all funds raised could go to our school. We are very grateful to  Jan, Rosie and all those that supported these raffles and we are set to use to funds to purchase a Smart TV for our junior classroom (as our interactive boards are not working very well). This new TV will allow teachers and students to connect to the screen using computers and iPads to show their work, watch presentations and attend online/live sessions. We can not wait to have our TV installed!

Next Week's Excursion to Scienceworks and Planetarium

Next Thursday (June16th)  is our whole school excursion to Melbourne to visit Scienceworks and the Melbourne Planetarium. Thank you to families who have signed the  permission notice on uEducateUs and arranged payment to the school. The cost of this excursion is partly covered by the school, we ask that each family assists with the cost by paying $25 per student for the bus.

A reminder that we are leaving from All Stone Quarries - 187 Upper California Gully Rd, California Gully at 8.15am and would like all students there before 8.10am. We are hoping to return to All Stone Quarries by 4.15pm; with Lisa to text families if this time is any different (an exact return time is difficult to pinpoint due to Melbourne traffic). You can get back onto uEducateUs at any stage to find information with regard what student's need.

Curriculum Day

A reminder that Friday June 17th is a Curriculum Day for our students. This means that the day following our excursion is a pupil free day and students do not come to school. Teachers will be using this day to finalise mid-year assessments and write student reports.

Mid Year Reports

We will be sending student hard copy reports home on Thursday June 23rd with students, these reports will also be accessible to each family on the uEducateUs site from Friday June 24th.  Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held during the first two weeks of Term 3; for parents/carers wishing to book a meeting with their child's teacher, please contact that teacher directly to arrange a suitable time. If families prefer to have a "chat" using online technology, please let your child's teacher know and we can arrange a meeting link for you to use.

School Council News

A reminder that our next meeting is Monday June 20th at 5.30pm at the school. Please let us know if you  are a member and can not make it, as we will need to reschedule (we have to have a meeting this term). The meeting will not take more than 45 minutes and children are welcome to come along to school if childminding is an issue.

End of Term

Believe it or not, the end of Term 2 is fast approaching. The last day of this term if Friday June 24th. Students will be dismissed one hour earlier than usual meaning school will conclude at 2.20pm and the bus will arrive at the drop off points one hour earlier than usual.

Our School Leaders have put forward the idea of having the last day as an out of uniform day and they have chosen the theme of PJ or Oodie Day. Students are invited to wear their PJ's (with something warm underneath or on top) to school on this day. Slippers can be worn inside if students wish, but proper outside footwear must be brought along to school to facilitate outdoor play. (A reminder we have Kelly Sports on this day, so sneakers are a must).

Special lunch - on the last day students are able to partake in a lunch of spaghetti bolognaise, if they wish. Any students who do not want to have this for lunch, will need to bring along their own lunch on this day.

Staying Up To Date

A reminder that our new look school website is now fully operational. In addition to information about our school and the programs, the home page has a calendar and latest events information for families so you can ensure that you are up to date with what is happening.  You will find the page here:

2023 Enrolments

We are currently taking enrolments for next year. If you or anyone you know is looking to tour, enquire or enrol into our terrific school for next year, please contact Lisa or Bree in the office. We are happy to tour families at any time that suits families best.
