Year 12 Biology students attended an excursion to Casey Tech on 26th and 27th of April. They used yeast trapped in alginate to investigate how temperature affects cellular respiration, and then the students planned and carried out their own experiments using living algae trapped in alginate to explore factors that affect photosynthesis.

Year 11 Biology students attended an excursion to the Gene Technology and Access Centre in Melbourne. They explored microscopy imaging technology to enhance their knowledge of cell structure and function.

Year 10 Applied Science students have been exploring the physics behind vehicles. They recently tried designing their own “air-powered” vehicles and tested them.

Year 10 Biology students have been studying mitosis and meiosis, using plasticine to make the different phases of these processes.
