Important Notices

Student Safety

Student safety at The Lakes South Morang College is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents/carers and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.

Before school: School grounds are supervised from 8:45am across each campus.

After school: School grounds are supervised until 3:30pm across each campus.

Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program (Primary Campus) or supervised extracurricular activity).

Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity (i.e. sports practice).

Families are encouraged to contact Camp Australia on 1300 105 343, or visit http://www.thelakes.edu.au/out-of-hours-care.html for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community.

Further information about our College Yard Duty and Supervision Policy can be accessed on our website.

Pathways Expo

On Monday 30th of May all Year 9-12 students went to the Pathways Expo. We got some ideas to what I would like to do as a career there were many career options there such as the army, universities, sport options and the police force.

I spoke with one university, the army, the sport option (The Richmond Institute) and also the trade presenters. It was really good to see some of my options for the future and I think that it was great for the rest of our cohort.

(Jye P, Year 9)

It was all positive feedback from the Year 12's after visiting the Pathways Expo. We engaged in some great conversations with the representatives from each stall and came away with a more in-depth understanding of what each pathway could offer us. As we're in the last year of our schooling, we're approaching some big decisions really fast and the Expo could not have come at a more perfect time. It opened us up to careers and courses we might never have considered or known about.

We also came away with lots of flyers and study designs to continue informing our decisions on the future.

Shout out to our Careers Coordinator Alyce for organising an informative afternoon!

(Angela R, Year 12)
