National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) Tests for Year 7 and 9 Students

A huge thanks to Jess Spiteri, Joshua Wolter, supervising teachers and all the Year 7 and 9 students who participated in the NAPLAN Assessment Program these past two weeks.  This assessment provides valuable feedback in literacy and numeracy and supports the College to identify strengths and learning gaps so that curriculum can be improved to promote student learning growth.

Particular thanks to all the parents of Year 7 and 9 students who ensured their student arrived at the College with their laptop fully charged so they were ready to tackle each assessment presented.   For those students who are not in the habit of charging their laptops, please make this a priority.

Absent students will have had an opportunity to participate in catch up tests over the course of this week.   NAPLAN Reports will be sent to families from August.

COVID Impact

As you may have heard in the news, COVID-related absences and the flu continue to have a significant impact in most schools – and on many staff. Casual Relief Teachers (CRTs) are in short supply and our teachers have been incredibly generous in the way they have supported our students and their peers. We have a variety of contingencies in place to enable learning continuity for our students. Thank you to parents, guardians and carers for their open communication with our Attendance Officers during these times.

Education Support Personnel Day - 16th May

Every day, in so many ways, our hard working Education Support staff help with smooth daily operations, support students to learn and teachers to teach.  At Epping Secondary we celebrated Education Support Personnel Day on Monday 16th May with a shared morning tea to acknowledge the significant individual and collective contribution of our ES Staff to our College.
