Year 11 & 12 Attendance in Term 2, Weeks 5 & 6

Year 11 and 12 ATAR students will be sitting exams from Monday, 23 May until Thursday, 2 June. Timetables have been distributed to students and revision has commenced in all classes. ATAR students only attend school when they have a scheduled examination.

Year 11 and 12 Vocational students are required to attend school from Monday, 23 May until Wednesday, 1 June unless they are attending TAFE or making up hours for Work Placement. All General courses will continue during this period. Work Placement 1 concludes 19/20 May but TAFE and traineeships will continue during this period.

Some students may be required to attend school on Thursday, 2 June if they have not completed course requirements including completion of sufficient competencies in Certificate Courses. There will be an important assembly held on Monday, 23 May at 9:00am for all Vocational Pathway students. Any Vocational students who usually attend TAFE or Traineeships on Fridays who wish to participate in St Norbert Day celebrations on Friday 3, June, must complete a “Training Variation Form” as soon as possible and submit to the Careers Centre at least one week in advance, so that TAFE centres can be advised."

St Norbert Day

The celebration of the entry to eternal life for Saint Norbert is June 6 and it is traditional for the College to mark the occasion with a day of celebration. This year, St Norbert Day will be celebrated on Friday, 3 June

The day will begin with a Mass in the O’Reilly Centre at 9:30am. Morning tea will be provided and a Staff v Student sporting competition will be conducted.

Students will be able to choose from various activities (mainly off-site) for the afternoon. These include the Perth zoo, museum, snooker, rock climbing, bowling and many others. Further information will be provided next week and parents/carers will be sent a MCB Consent2Go email requesting permission to attend and payment.

Year 9 camp

Save the date: There will be an important Year 9 Camp Information session via Teams on Wednesday, 25 May at 6:00pm

Early Leave

A number of students and parents/carers are not notifying the College when a student needs to leave during the day. A reminder that the following process is required for students needing to leave the College early:

  • Bring a signed note form a parent explaining the reason for the early leave (eg dental appointment).
  • The note must be handed to the Homeroom teacher or Student Services at the start of the day for recording into SEQTA.
  • An Early leave slip (pink) is to be collected from Student Services at the time of departure.

Medication

Parents and students are reminded that the College is unable to give out any medication (eg Panadol, Nurofen, antihistamine etc) unless it is an emergency. It is recommended that if students need non-prescription medication for headaches and allergies, that they keep a small quantity in their lockers.
