Foundation Fun With Grandparents!

Last week, there was nothing more exciting than to see Foundation students welcome grandparents into our learning space.  The children were eager to show their grandparents around the learning space and launch into Investigations. It was lovely to see multi generations build, draw, talk, create, paint, play and have fun together at school. Many grandparents remarked how much school has changed since they were 6 years of age, and are in awe of their grandchildren.

Having young people understand the importance of older adults, and showing older adults how much they are appreciated, loved and adored is crucial. The students at St Raphael's know how lucky they are to have such wonderful grandparents in their lives!

We hope all Grandparents had a wonderful day!

Guardian Early Learning Centre Visit

On Wednesday 2nd November and Monday 7th November, children from the Guardian Early Learning Centre in West Preston came to visit our learning space. It was wonderful to see Foundation students act so responsibly by welcoming and involving the kinder children in their Investigations. The kinder children were looked after well and were happy to play in their unfamiliar surroundings. Each visit ended with the showing of a video Foundation students made last term, highlighting the great things about our school.

Maths-Learning About The Sequence of Time

Last week in Maths, students identified a calendar as a tool we use to help us keep track of each day. It allows us to visually see when different events will happen. Students were quick to point out the different features of a calendar. These include the days of the week, the month, dates, year etc... . The children then named specific events and diarised these on a calendar.
