Year 5/6 students and their parents have been invited to an online parent and child evening Tuesday 8th November at 7pm.
A majority of the 5/6 community have signed up for this informative evening hosted by Open Doors Counselling and Educational Services.
We look forward to introducing this program to our school community where students learn about puberty facts for boys and girls and the emotional ups and downs that are part of this time of life. Other messages are handling change and uncertainty, talking to a trusted grownup when you need support or information, identifying social media pressure (body perfection, selfie culture, viewing and sharing internet pornography) and acting in ways that are safe.
Year 5/6 parents - If you haven't already responded on Operoo, please do so before the session tomorrow.
World Kindness Day is Sunday 13th November. We are going to celebrate World Kindness Day on Friday 18th November.
More information will be shared with you in the coming days.
Parenting Workshop is this coming Saturday 12th November, 9am - 2pm. There are still tickets available. See the links below for details.
Just a quick note to let you know about my upcoming workshop in Melbourne for parents of boys. If you or someone you know has been struggling to get through to your son/s, help them to engage in school and navigate the complexity of relationships, emotion and mental health then this workshop is for you. Based on the research that underpins my nationally acclaimed Understanding and Educating Boys workshop, Parenting Boys has been designed especially to help parents of boys grow in their understanding of how and what makes them tick.
