On Monday 7th November we had the 'official' opening of the Senior Arts Show. The exhibition was an opportunity to showcase the amazing work produced by our senior arts students.
We were absolutely blown away by the number of parents, family and friends who attended the evening. Guests were treated to performances from our music students and delicious finger food prepared by our hospitality students.
Congratulations to everyone who made the evening possible. Our students with their wonderful art, the teachers for all their work in putting the exhibition together and our music and hospitality students. A big thank you to all our guests who attended and contributed to the success of the evening.
Year 10 Outdoor Education recently went on a very memorable hike. From Wednesday the 2nd to Friday the 4th of November, Mr Graham’s class headed out with the intention of hiking in the Baw Baw National Park. As the weather had turned cold it was decided to park the buses at the Mount Erica Car Park and hike up to the Talbot Hut ruins, as this is not as exposed.
When they arrived at the car park they were greeted by a light dusting of snow. The group set off with their packs, however by mushroom rocks the snow was falling heavily. Whilst the group were extremely well prepared with full waterproofs and solid footwear, given the cold and muddy track, it soon became obvious they would need to descend and find somewhere warmer and drier to camp. The following day the group hiked into Walhalla where they played a town wide game of hide and seek and had a quick game of cricket at the historic hill top cricket ground.
VCE Food studies students produced 60 wonderful Christmas boxes for the staff to purchase. The boxes included fruit cake, mince pies, short bread, cookies and chocolates, all presented in a beautiful package.
Some lucky staff were also offered a 'BSC Hello Fresh' box made by the students - they included all the ingredients and instructions on how to make curry, rice and a brownie slice.
Our VCAL students have been very busy completing end of year projects.
Thank you to Harry, Josh and Ryan who planned and made this amazing new seating area outside the front of the VCAL building.
Students have also been working on items for staff to purchase as Christmas gifts.
