As the year starts to wind up our goal is to support students to develop positive relationships leading into Year 8. To help the students to work towards these relationships we have started to introduce some activities that will expand on developing the skills that they worked on in our Year 7 camp at The Summit. The activities will focus on working in teams, different methods of communication and will give students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills amongst their cohort. We hope that students push themselves out of their comfort zone and take this opportunity to develop their relationships with others.
A reminder that our Year 7 students will be transitioning into Year 8 on the 29th November. This is the time that they will start their classes for 2023. They are not expected to have all their books for each class but they will need an exercise book that they can use for the whole transition period. This work can then be moved into their subject workbooks next year. Students will also need their pencil case and computers like always.
Celebrating Music
In Year 7 classroom music, students have developed basic skills on piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums and percussion. Students have been exploring the relationship between performers and audience (which is based on mutual respect), and students have been developing group performances. The results have been amazing!
Year 7 Maths
Students in 7G have been working hard on their scale model CAT involving landmarks. Students were required to construct their landmark to scale.
