Art Exhibition Performances

On Monday 7th November the Music Department was invited to provide performances for the opening of the Senior Art Show. Our performances began with Kate who performed a beautiful selection of flute duets, including music from the Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. This was followed by Madeleine who performed a selection of clarinet duets and Rebecca performing some advanced eighteenth century flute duets. The performances concluded with a little jazz combo comprising Aleka, Patrick, Cody and James Newman. 

The Music Department would like to thank the Art department for inviting us to this most prestigious and well attended event.

Music Practice

As we approach the end of year performances and tours, students need to remember to continue to practice their instrument. Many have found that before school and during lunch and recess are great times to do this. The music centre is open Monday to Thursday at 7:35 am for early risers, lunchtimes and recess and most days after school until at least 4:00 pm. 

This week Isabel and Aiden were found in the music centre practising on Wednesday morning.

Music Tour Up-Date

Our Music tour this year is the first time in a while that the strings and bands are combined. Friday lunchtimes have been devoted to rehearsing the combined ensemble under the baton of Mr James Newman. It has been exciting seeing our Year 12 students return to rehearsals as their exams come to an end. 

Parents are reminded that all tour information is up on Compass and needs to be attended to as soon as possible.
