Staff Farewells & Welcomes

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff that are retiring from Cheltenham Secondary College (SC) or have taken up other opportunities in education.

Retirement

Di Veremiciukas

Di Started her career in education in 1970 as a Science teacher and came to Cheltenham SC in 1996. Di has been at Cheltenham for 27 years in a variety of roles. Since retiring as a teacher a few years ago, Di has worked as a Lab Technician in the Science Department here at Cheltenham. Thank you and congratulations Di on the amazing work you have done in education over 53 years. We hope you enjoy spending your time in retirement travelling and giving cuddles to your beautiful dog.

 

Jan Watson

Jan started at Cheltenham as a Lab Technician in 2003. She has worked tirelessly over the last 20 years keeping our Science Department up and running, ensuring staff are able to run pracs with students and keeping our science labs up and running. We hope you enjoy spending time with your family and travelling in your retirement.

 

 

Tania Widdicombe 

Tania has spent 34 years working in education, beginning her teaching career in 1989 and  moving to Cheltenham in 2006. Tania has spent 17 years at Cheltenham SC as a Maths and Science Teacher, contributing greatly to the College and spending many hours supporting our students both within and outside of the College. We wish you well in your retirement Tania.

 


New opportunities

 

Jasper Au

Jasper started at Cheltenham in 2016 as an art teacher extraordinaire, having spent time working in the industry prior to his teaching career.  Throughout his time at Cheltenham Jasper has been a Year Level Coordinator and spent countless hours supporting the artwork and design in our school productions and behind the scenes on show night. We wish you well in your new role at Woodleigh College.

 

Elle Chung 

Elle began her teaching career as a graduate in 2019 here at Cheltenham as a maths teacher. Ella has always given up her time to assist students after school in maths help and attended several school camps. Good luck in your new role at Belgrave Heights Christian College.

 

 

Emma Cristiano

Emma joined our Integration Aide team in 2021 and has helped support our students in the classroom to reach their potential. We wish you well in your new role at St Josephs's College in Black Rock.

 

 

 

 

 

Adam Collings

Adam began his teaching career in 2000 and joined Cheltenham in 2003 as a PE teacher. He has undertaken various roles in his time here at Cheltenham including; Domain Leader of PE, Year Level Coordinator, Leader of Student Voice and Agency and Assistant Principal, overseeing the Senior School. In his 20 years at Cheltenham, Adam has coached many sporting teams, cooked thousands of BBQ’s and supported our staff and students in  a warm and supportive manner. We wish you luck in your role at Carwatha College going forward. 

 

Maddy Dyson

We have been lucky enough to have Maddy work at Cheltenham through our connection with the Les Twentyman Foundation as a Youth Worker. Maddy has been instrumental in supporting the wellbeing of our students and their families in her time at the College. We wish her well in her future endeavours supporting Youth.

 

 

Emma Farrington-Williams 

Emma began her teaching career at Cheltenham in 2013 and has spent the last 10 years as a PE/Health/Psychology teacher and undertaking numerous roles within the College including; Year Level Coordinator, Careers Leader and Director of Senior School. We wish you luck in your new role at Carwatha College. 

 

 

Dave Goldsmith

Dave started at Cheltenham as a counsellor undertaking hours here as part of his Masters of Counselling degree through Monash University. Dave has supported countless students in his role and most recently took on the role of Director of Wellbeing while Lorraine East has been on long service leave. We wish you well in your future endeavours in supporting youth to reach their potential.

 

Monique Hofman

Monique began as a graduate at Cheltenham in 2019 as a Maths and Science Teacher.  In her time at the College,  Monique has spent time as a Year Level Coordinator and most recently as the Acting Director of Junior School as well as countless hours supporting our Maths after school help sessions. We wish you luck in your new role at Carwatha College.

 

 

Philippa Taylor

Pippa commenced at Cheltenham SC in 2002 as a graduate art teacher. During her time at Cheltenham she has spent time as a Year Level Coordinator. Pippa’s talents as a practicing ceramic artist have seen our students exposed to real world artist skills and exhibitions. We wish you well in your future role at Woodleigh College.  

 

 

Jenny Willis 

Jenny has spent 26 years working in the Education Department, having a couple of periods in that time at Cheltenham SC. Jenny returned to Cheltenham in 2012 and has spent the last 11 years as an EAL and Humanities teacher and most recently undertaking the role as Domain Leader of EAL. Good luck in your new role at Glen Waverley Secondary College.
