Instrumental Music

For the past month, while the VCE exams have occupied the Performing Arts Centre, our instrumental students and staff have been found in E7 workshopping (jamming) together in small groups to create, arrange and improvise on their instruments. Some students even took the opportunity try out another instrument. Staff too have enjoyed the chance to collaborate with students and try their hand at something new (flute/piano/violin teacher Cassandra is pictured here, playing bass for the first time!). 

If you’ve been lucky enough to have a class in the vicinity of our temporary ‘band room’ you’d have heard some great tunes, including; Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Landslide, Believer, Let it Be, Hey Jude, Anti-Hero, September, Nature Boy and a cracker of a mashup of Jolene and Nothing Breaks Like a Heart. Enrolments are now being accepted for next year, with some instruments in high demand – don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of the Instrumental Music Program at GSC in 2023.
