Sports and Community
SCC Volleyball Team!
We were excited to register the very first SCC volleyball team this term! Mr Ravenscroft inspired a bunch of Grade 10 boys to pit their skills against other Independent schools in the Grade 10 SSATIS volleyball roster.
Congratulations to Liam, Will, Ari, Tom, Marcus and Noah for being willing to try a new sport. Many thanks to Mr Ravenscroft for coaching and training the boys.
Boys Netball Team
Congratulations to our inaugural secondary boys netball team, auspiciously named “Southern Chads”! The boys have enjoyed a very successful start to the Term 4 season, with both their team work and individual skills developing rapidly each week. It’s been exciting to watch the boys in action.

Bags of Hope
The Joy of Christmas doesn't extend to all families across Tasmania.
The Salvation Army is asking schools and members of the community to help fill a “Bag of Hope” this Christmas.
A “Bag of Hope” comes with a shopping list of items that would provide a family with a Christmas meal and all those little extras that are so nice at this time of year. If you are able to help, please get in touch with email us at prtas@salvationarmy.org.au - Your generous contribution will help make a real difference.
Please deliver filled bags to Roseanne Randall in the SCC office, by Wednesday 30 November, for delivery to The Salvation Army.
Last Christmas, The Salvation Army saw a significant increase in the number of Tasmanians reaching out for support. In fact, the number almost doubled with 6202 people provided with assistance during the holiday period compared with 3107 in 2020. We know many Tasmanians continue to struggle with increased costs of living and anticipate that we will see an even higher number of people reach out for help this year.
