Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church.

St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parish's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Hello Families and Friends of St Anthony's,

What a busy few weeks at St Anthony's Primary School.

School Review

On Tuesday and Thursday last week we had Trish Cowling the school reviewer visit St Anthony's and meet with staff, students and parents. Her job is to find out about the amazing things we do at St Anthony's and suggest possible areas for improvement. She will return in December to share her report with staff. There will be no school on Monday the 5th December as it is a day for staff to share the report from our school review and to strategically plan for continuous school improvement.

Step Into Prep

Over the last couple of weeks and into the next couple of weeks we have our Step Into Prep days on which our prep students for 2023 come to visit St Anthony's to allow them to become familiar with our school, staff and to meet each other. It has been so wonderful seeing them participate in learning activities and get to know each other.

Building Update

The builders have been working very hard and there has been a lot of progress made on the refurbishment of the administration building. The internal painting and joinery installation have commenced and construction of the external fencing and pathways have started. Everything is on track for completion in December so that we can move in and start 2023 in our new school offices.

Families Leaving St Anthony's

We are busy finalising classes for 2023. If any families are leaving St Anthony's at the end of the year please let the office know as soon as possible so that we can best plan for the year ahead.

St Anthony's School Advisory Council

I'd like to take this chance to thank the parents who have been a part of our 2022 School Advisory Council.  Throughout the year they have provided feedback, shared discussions on teaching and learning and worked on Child Safety at St Anthony's. Their input is so important to us and we thank them for building partnerships and working with us.

Remembrance Day

Last week our students held a Remembrance prayer service to remember all those who served or died in war. It was a very moving tribute. We also had two students represent St Anthony's at the Noble Park RSL Remembrance service.
