Reminders

Apologies, this newsletter was not published on Friday, 4/11/2022, due to staff illness.
Lane gate access & bike storage
We will be opening the gate entrance from the lane for pedestrian and bike access as of Monday. Bikes will need to be locked to a bike rack located along the lane fence. Students will no longer be allowed to park their bikes near the buildings as this practice can potentially cause injuries to students.
Reminder to parents and students with bikes. The school does not take responsibility for bikes or scooters not locked in the designated bike area.
Working Bee
Our Building & Grounds committee has organised a working bee for Sunday, 13/11/2022, starting at 10.00 a.m. It would be much appreciated if you could volunteer some time and assist.
Hats
I know we say it every year, but terms four and one are 'NO HAT, NO PLAY' times of the year. All children are expected to wear a school-approved broad-brim or bucket hat daily. The only alternatives to our school hats will be those that provide the same level of sun protection and are approved by the school.
Caps, jackets, or any other form of clothing will not be accepted as sun protection. Students who do not comply will be sent to sit in the shade of the Blue shed during lunch and recess times.
Lost Property
We do not hold any lost property at the office. If a student misplaces any jacket or hat with their name on it, the item is returned to their classroom; if the lost property is presented to the office and is not labelled, then it will be placed in our unclaimed property box outside of the 'old' staffroom entrance.
To avoid an explosion of property in this box, we strongly urge families to label their child's clothing.
Activity, events payments
The school has had in place for some time SENTRAL as a payment portal for families to pay for any activity, excursion or camp. This portal assists our office staff in aligning permission notices to the payment of the activity by the family. We understand that in some cases, families have been 'locked out' from paying due to the activity payment closing off, which stopped families from paying after the event.
We will be implementing an improvement to this process which will be better than what is currently happening both for the school and community.
