Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Program Garden Beds

The Kitchen Garden has been enjoying all the rain, and now the sunshine. Everything is growing and looking healthy. The rocket and bok choi has been picked ( and taken home by the children in OSHC who had been helping take care of the garden). The Silverbeet is ready to be picked. The snow peas are starting to flower. This week, we planted capsicums, basil, and zucchini seedlings. We also planted marigolds throughout as companion plants as they attract good bugs and deter the nasty bugs. The garden has received another bottle of Pearl’s worm juice and lots of love and attention from interested students, especially those from OSHC,Poppy and Laura( including sunflowers grown from from seed!).

ELECTION DAY BBQ

URGENT!! We still need more volunteers, particularly in the afternoon. This fundraiser is promising to be our biggest fundraiser for the year, with the revenue raised coming solely from the local community rather than from our families.

Fundraising Efforts to the End of Last Year

The Parent Fundraising and Social Committee is excited to announce that we agreed to assist in the purchase of 12 interactive TV screens to replace the smart whiteboards in all the classrooms, Art Room, Music Room and iSTEM Room.

The screens will provide our teachers and children expanded learning opportunities including being able to present work straight from their chrome books to the whole class.

The Committee has committed to paying 50% of the cost, which equates to $6000 for the screens, brackets and installation.

The screens will arrive shortly and will be installed over the summer break.  A big thank you to Simon Day from Harvey Norman Thomastown who has supplied the TVs and John Lyndsay (Frankie’s Dad 3/4 WS) 8Electrics, who has generously agreed to install the screens.

This a major expenditure item and wouldn’t be possible without all of you that have contributed to the Fundraising efforts over the last couple of years- thank you!
