Year 6 Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre Visit

As our Year 6 Students prepare for the Sacrament  of Confirmation, we visited the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre.

The students were enlightened by the life of St Mary of the Cross and her wonderful work, teachings.

After our visit the the Heritage Centre, they shifted their mind set to Confirmation and their knowledge of 'The Gifts of the Holy Spirit'. The students walked through the Fitzroy gardens and stopped at many attractions which related to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We wish our Year 6 Students celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation the best during this Holy time.

3/4 Maths activities- Battleship Game, Mapping and Compass Points

This week in Maths the 3/4 students have been learning about Mapping and Coodinates.

They played a game of Battle Ship to demonstrate and practice their understanding of locating coodinates on a grid. The students had a great time playing this game and it reinforced these mapping skills. They also learnt about the Compass Rose. The students  identified and labelled the points of a compass. These skills will certainly help them when we go orienteering on Camp in a few weeks.
