Teaching and Learning

 Term 4

What a wonderful week of learning it has been across the school. Students have participated in the wide range of programs on offer, with many taking their learning beyond the classroom through excursions, incursions and Experience Days. Connecting learning to community settings enables students to develop new understandings in context and apply learnt skills.

As part of the Secondary 9/10 writing program, students went to Greensborough Plaza for a whole section movie experience. Through this practical experience, students developed skills and strategies to write different types of reviews. Upon returning to school, students wrote reviews on the movie, the food and the experience as a whole. Learning in real life contexts engages students in their learning in a purposeful and meaningful way.

Year 6 and Year 12 Graduation

The Year 6s and Year 12s have been excitedly preparing for their graduation celebrations. We are looking forward to celebrating these significant milestones in the coming weeks. School graduations are important bookends in every student's schooling life and something that marks the next step in their life journey.

This will be the last official newsletter for our Year 12 students transitioning on to new adventures. We wish them every success as they leave school and hope that they return to visit us in the future.

Semester 2 Student Reports

This week, your child’s Semester 2 Student Report will be available to view and download on Compass.  To access the report on Compass please go to: Profile (Attendance, Schedule, Reports) > Reports tab > 2022 - Semester 2. If you have any questions about your child’s report prior to SSGs, please feel free to contact your classroom teacher, section leader or myself.

Term 4 SSG Meetings

The final Student Support Group (SSG) meetings for this year will be held on Tuesday 29th November. The SSGs will be held after school between 3.15pm – 6.30pm. Bookings for these SSGs are now open on Compass. We will continue to offer both platforms for the meetings, face-to-face and WebEx. Term 4 SSGs provide an opportunity for families to discuss the Semester 2 Student Report with the classroom teacher as well as celebrate student learning and achievement for 2022.
