Principal's Report

Term 4

This week the interactive room in the Discovery Centre has transformed into a Christmas theme. This is a sure sign that the end of the year is approaching.

Please note that in 2023 school resumes for students on Tuesday 31st January.

Concord Community Concert – Monday 5th December

We are excited that the Concord School Community Concert will return in 2022. The majority of our students will have a role on the evening and all students are strongly encouraged to attend.

Please see the flyer below for an overview of what promises to be a fantastic event for our school community.

Transition Day

We have our Transition Day on Tuesday, 13th of December. On this day all students, including those who are new to the school, will work with their 2023 teachers and classmates in their new classrooms. Please note that following this day there may still be changes to teachers and/or class groupings.

Lower Primary students will have received further information regarding the arrangements for the day from Kath Moore.

Information Sessions in 2023

This is just a ‘heads up’ in preparation for 2023. On the evening of Wednesday, 1st February, we will hold an Information Evening for all Upper Primary, Secondary 7/8 and Secondary 9/10 families.

Parents and carers will be invited to attend an online meeting where information about all curriculum areas, camps, excursions, routines and structures will be discussed. There will be time for questions and parents will get a chance to meet all the teachers working in their section of the school.

We will then hold a separate Meet the Teacher afternoon/night for all students on Monday, 13th February. This will give parents and carers the opportunity to meet one on one with their child’s classroom teacher and provide information that will assist the teacher to get to know their child.

IVET Excellence Awards

Every year IVET celebrates the achievements of students undertaking VET courses and presents Excellence Awards to eight outstanding students. Trainers are asked to nominate only two students from their class who have demonstrated significant achievements in their work.

Along with thousands of other students throughout the whole of Australia, two very deserving students from Elise Vallender’s IVET Certificate I in Employment Pathways class were nominated in the hope of winning this prestigious award.

I am so proud to announce that Georgia Fitzpatrick and Reshab Kumar were both awarded a special Finalist Certificate for their ‘exemplary accomplishments in Vocational Education in 2022’.

To be a finalist is amazing considering only eight students receive the Excellence Award. Georgia and Reshab are so proud of themselves, as is the whole Year 11/12 section of these hard-working students.

Thanks to Elise and well done Georgia and Reshab!
