Kindergarten Transition

Our Kindergarten students completed their second transition day on the 7th November. The weather was much kinder to us this time so we were able to go outside and study minibeasts. We learned about the habitats of minibeasts, where each kind might live and then counted as many as we could and recorded them in a tally.

Years F/1 Science

In Science, we have been learning about movement. We went outside and observed our partners on the playground. We looked at how their bodies moved and which body parts we used when moving.

GWM Water National Water Week competition

Suzen Musa has received an honourable mention in this year's GWM Water National Water Week competition. A group of students in years 2 and 3 had drawings selected for consideration in the competition which received 430 entries from 17 schools. This year's theme of Water Stories inspired students with many of their drawings featuring Lake Wallace. Students receiving a participation award were Alex Stone, Poppy Caldow & Charlotte Browning - Satatas.

Year 2/3 Science

The 2/3 students have been exploring different types of force including pushing, pulling, gravity and friction. They have been creating their own Rube Goldberg machines to investigate these areas. I am so proud of the way they have been working together to create some amazing ideas.

Year 6 Kindergarten Session

This week our Year 6 students had their first session at the local kindergarten. This is a new initiative that we had, aiming to continue building connections in the community. Our Year 6 students are building their leadership skills through engaging with the 3 & 4 year old kinder groups, while the kindergartners are able to develop their social and communication skills. Our Year 6 students were magnificent in their ability to engage, encourage, and connect with their new little friends. They supported the younger kids with play outside on the swings and in the sandpit, exploring nature and climbing trees, doing gymnastics, musically play, as well as creative and artistic play. We are just starting to build these connections and this leadership opportunity for the Year 6s, and hope to grow this program to incorporate more skills and development for both the older and younger students.
