Celebrating Academic Success!

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for your responses in the recent survey. There was some really wonderful feedback and positive support from so many. A few things came up as questions around why we do certain things and I would like to reassure you that we take the feedback seriously and we will be working on your suggestions. I will share this information in the coming newsletters.

I think it is worth sharing the great academic success we have experienced over the last few difficult years. Despite Covid, building works and flooding, our results have continued to improve. This is due to the fact we put learning first, every time, no matter what is happening.

Below is a snapshot of reading and maths results from Naplan this year. The increase in Maths results shows the impact of the MaST program. 

I understand some parents feel a bit disconnected due to the way schools have had to be closed to visitors for such a long time. Parents are of course very welcome on school grounds. We are a few weeks away from all building work to be finally finished. Once completed we will let you know and  I would encourage all parents who normally wait outside the gate or over the road to come in and chat under the trees while waiting for their children. We would like to return to seeing parents and carers in the school grounds. It’s a good opportunity for a quick hello and catch up. We will advertise when all is complete. 

As well as having a relentless focus on academic success we also monitor carefully the wellbeing of every student. Recently we surveyed all the students by asking them where they feel safe or unsafe at school, do they feel cared for by their teachers and their friends and how do they best learn? This information is so valuable and we are chatting informally with students to ensure any concerns are addressed.
