EVERYONE BELONGS DAY

Today we celebrated 'Everyone Belongs Day', an initiative put forward by our student leaders which combined two important days awareness days, Harmony and 'Bullying. No Way!' day, highlighting the issues of inclusion and bulying

Harmony Day is celebrated every year on March 21st. It honours Australia's cultural diversity. Harmony Day is about including, respecting and appreciating the stories, traditions and cultures of all people who call Australia home.

One way to celebrate Harmony Day is to wear the colour orange. This is the official colour of Harmony Day.  Wearing something orange on Harmony Day shows that you believe in an inclusive Australia where everyone is welcome and everyone belongs

'Bullying. No Way!' day is a National Day of action against Bullying and Violence. The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to bullying and violence.

Students and staff supported and raised awareness of this important day by having open conversations about how as a collective we stand together and take action against bullying and violence.

Another way our students and staff raised awareness was by purchasing and wearing the official 'Bullying. No Way!' t-shirts and jumpers.

Thank you to all our students and staff who donated to  'Everyone Belongs' day and raised funds to go towards the Southern Migrant & Refugee Centre.
