WORLDS GREATEST SHAVE

What an event!

The Student Representative Council ran their first student led event for Term 1 for the World’s Greatest Shave. And what an event it was! Students and staff gathered together to support their peers (and Barb BSC staff member) shave and cut, to donate their hair for a very important cause.

After a year of cancelled student led events, the vibe in the Amphitheatre was incredible and brought back some normality, and connection to our school community once again.

House Leaders ran the ‘House Spirit’ competition, while we were treated to hearing our very own talented music students perform in front of their peers for the first time this year, and perhaps settle the nerves of those students who were shaving their hair.

Congratulations to the following students who participated in the WGS on Friday 12th March by shaving and donating their hair to raise an incredible amount of $5000. This is such an amazing effort by our students.

Nick Quinlan (Year 12)

Jono Babic (Year 12)

Wei Li Boey (Year 12)

Sam Hodges (Year 10)

Abi Geary (Year 9)

Mason Hancox (Year 8)

Calum Mensah (Year 8)

A big thank you to the following parents who volunteered their time to help and be part of the event with cutting, shaving, and hair spraying student and staff hair.

Marcus Barber (Parent of Flynn in Year 10)

Tanja Nishibata (Parent of Xavier in Year 10  & Ty in Year 7)

Daniella Mayger (Parent of Jeremy in Year 8)

Bing Lee ( Parent of Davinder in Year 7)

Tony Pastore ( Parent of Saverio in Year 7)

It was wonderful to see so many students participate in this event by colouring their hair or coming to school with a crazy hairstyle. Congratulations to Mabo for the winning House Spirit Trophy for having the highest number of students participant in the WGS.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for making this such a successful event and supporting this cause at Brighton Secondary College, and for your very generous donations totaling over $9000.
